Citroen is all set to make its India debut with its first product, the C5 Aircross SUV, in July 2020. This French Automotive brand is a part of the PSA Group(Peugeot-Citroen). All set with its first outlet at Ahmedabad, the company is busy generating brand awareness and making people acquainted with its heritage and premium appeal.

According to a media source, Citroen India aims to open 10-15 dealerships in the first phase that will sell C5 Aircross in a limited number for the starters. The showroom will be based on the La Maison concept. Citroen India is expected to open outlets that will follow the minimalist theme, thus reducing the space required by the dealer quite significantly and thereby reducing the investment cost. According to a media report, La Maison uses wood & earthy tones accented by bright highlights thus providing a warm home-like experience to the customers.

Although not many details have been revealed about C5 Aircross, this SUV is expected to be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel trims. The petrol SUV will get a 1.6L turbo unit that outputs 180 bhp max power and 250 Nm peak torque while the diesel engine will be a 2.0L unit that outputs 176 bhp max power and 400 Nm highest torque. Globally, both the engines are available with 8-speed auto transmission but the India-spec model will get a manual gearbox as well. Competing against the likes of Jeep Compass, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, and Hyundai Tuscon, the C5 Aircross is expected to come packed with a host of features.

PSA group will be collaborating with the CK Birla group at a facility in Tamil Nadu for manufacturing cars in India. The C5 Aircross is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 15-20 lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
